Syrian Omar Al Somah, Al Orouba striker and the Saudi League’s all-time leading scorer, commented on the Al Hilal fans’ applause for him during the two teams’ match in the competition.
Al Hilal defeated Al Orouba 4-0 in the 31st round of the league, while Al S omah received a standing ovation from Al Za’eem fans upon his substitution, despite having spent most of his professional career with Al Ahli Jeddah.
Al Somah spoke about the Al Hilal fans’ greetings, saying: “Honestly, I was surprised by the fans’ response. The leader’s fans are well-known in Saudi Arabia and Asia. They are a discerning audience, and the respect between us is mutual.”
He added, “I thank them for their feelings, and I wish them success next season, and I hope they return stronger.” He continued in televised statements, “The match was difficult. Al-Hilal is a great team, both at home and away. We worked to close down the spaces in front of our opponents, and the coach focused on this throughout the past week.”
